Three Trees is a registered charity (no. 1140924) and was formed to take on the building owned by Chelmsley Wood Baptist Church. It is non-faith and independent and its aim is to run a centre for all the community in the area. It is managed by an elected board of trustees, including representatives from the church. In 2010 we began a major refurbishment program to repair what was a virtually dilapidated 1960s community centre. We raised funds to fix the roof, replace all the windows and reorder the entrance area, creating what was to become the community cafe. The second Phase refurbished the two existing community rooms and toilets and created a third community room. While we were doing that we also managed to create a fabulous community garden (still in progress!). We have just finsihed the final building phase and are in the process of getting our act together. Overall, we've raised around £1.2m to repair, refurbish and extend the building and we are now ready for even more action.
Three Trees relies on volunteers, including the board of trustees who are responsible for ensuring the building is run properly and well.
We are grateful to these voluntary Trustees who work to support the centre. We now have a Centre Manager who can answer any questions (as long as they aren't about metaphysics).
